MessageMirror processes your data exclusively on your device. We never collect, store, or access your information on our servers. When you enable backups, your data is securely encrypted and transferred directly from your device to your Google account—call logs to Google Calendar and messages to Gmail—without passing through our systems.

Data Collection and Processing

The app processes the following types of data:

• Messages: SMS and MMS content, including sender/recipient information, timestamps, and message content. This data is only used to create backup emails in your Gmail account.
• Gmail Email Labels: Used to organize backed-up messages into specific categories in your Gmail account.
• Call Logs: Phone numbers, call duration, timestamps, and call type, stored as Google Calendar events when backup is enabled.
• Device Identifiers: Used for app functionality and strictly necessary analytics.
• Backup Operation Logs: Maintained on your device with timestamps, operation status, and item counts. Automatically deleted after 30 days.

Analytics

We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage and performance metrics to help us improve the app. This data includes:

• App stability and crash reports
• Feature usage statistics (e.g., how often a backup is triggered)
• Device type and OS version

Important: We never track, log, or transmit the content of your messages, contacts, or call logs to our analytics services. Your private communications remain strictly private.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to provide the following services:

• Enable backup and restore functionality for your messages and call logs
• Organize your backed-up messages using Gmail labels
• Create calendar events from your call logs when enabled
• Monitor and log backup operations for reliability and troubleshooting

All processing occurs locally on your device or directly between your device and Google's secure servers. We do not access, collect, or store your personal data on our servers.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information or message content to others.

4. Google API Disclosure

MessageMirror's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. Data Security

Your data's security is our top priority. We implement the following measures:

• End-to-end encryption for all data in transit via HTTPS
• Local data storage with Android's secure app sandboxing
• Automatic deletion of operation logs after 30 days
• No server-side storage of your personal data by us
• Data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable backups to your own Google account

7. Your Data Rights

You have full control over your data:

Access and Control

• View and Manage Data: Access and manage your data through the app's interface (e.g., viewing logs or settings).
• Backup Control: Enable/disable backups at any time in the app settings.
• Revoke Access: You can revoke MessageMirror's access to your Google Account at any time via your Google Account Security settings.

Data Deletion

• Local Data: Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored configuration and logs from your device.
• Backed-up Data: Data in your Google Account remains under your control. You can:
  • Delete backed-up messages directly in Gmail
  • Remove call log events in Google Calendar

8. Payments and Subscriptions

MessageMirror may offer paid subscriptions or one-time purchases via the Google Play Store.

• Processing: All payments are processed securely by Google Play. We do not collect or store your credit card or financial information.
• Management: You can manage your subscriptions, including cancellations, directly through the Google Play Store app on your device.

9. Compliance with Laws

We comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are a resident of California or the European Economic Area, you have the right to request access to and deletion of your personal data, though as noted above, we do not store your personal data on our servers.
